Huesker Nabento Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCL)

NaBento® is a laminated geotextile composite approx. 10mm thick with bentonite, a highly water-swellable clay, contained within its geotextile supporting layers. The clay can be either sodium or calcium bentonite. The components are sewn together to provide composite action and high internal shear strength. The supporting geotextiles are designed to act together with the bentonite so that, once sewn together in the factory, NaBento® provides a long-term sealing layer.
NaBento® has a high settlement capacity, high internal shear strength and resistance to erosion.

NaBento® can be engineered and manufactured to suit a particular application, ie; the type and quantity of bentonite can be specified as well as the particular synthetic raw materials and ancillary fittings.
A special coating can be applied to the external surfaces of NaBento® to give better protection against desiccation and increase the local shear strength with the adjacent soils or other contact materials.
